Our Vision For Graduates of The Collective:

  • Participants will feel supported with step-by-step support in launching their practices, from filing for an LLC to seeing their first clients.

  • Structured and goal specific objectives to work on between sessions so you spend less time Googling and more time creating.

  • Confidence in selling yourself and your practice to clients and referral sources. (You will know and practice your ideal client elevator pitch because true success in private practice relies on your confidence in marketing yourself!)

  • Feedback and templates for a three page website with copy that not only speaks to your ideal client but also prioritizes SEO

  • Clarity on your unique brand identity and clinical niche

  • Built-in community that is invested in your success, rooting you on, sharing successes and cautionary tales and supporting you from day 1!

Please note, our recommended EHR is Simple Practice and our recommended website builder is Squrespace. Participants are welcome to use other platforms as they choose but we are best able to support and help troubleshoot those listed above.

This Collective may not be a good fit for you if…:

  • You do not currently have the capacity to work on your business outside of meetings an additional 2 (or more) hours per week.

  • You are not currently able to invest additional funding to support business license fees, liability insurance fees, website domain and hosting fees and any additional marketing fees. (We estimate an additional $250+ for a bare bones start.)

  • Your ideal practice is a group practice vs. solo provider. (Group practices come with additional dynamics that we are not experts supporting at this time.)

  • You are hoping to scale quickly without regard for long-term sustainability.

  • You are hoping to utilize or count this time for clinical supervision. (While we are open to supporting dependently licensed clinicians with The Collective and are appropriately credentialed to provide clinical supervision, hours spent with us during this time will not count towards licensure supervision.)

  • You are hoping to partner with venture-capital backed platforms like Alma, BetterHelp, Headway, Grow, etc. instead of individually credentialing with insurance companies. (Lotus Counseling Collective is supportive of autonomy in business decision making and we acknowledge the inherent problems with utilizing platforms that devalue the invaluable work of our profession and threaten to impact the sustainability of small practices. Our goal is to support practices that promote psychotherapy as a valuable, expert and nuanced professional skillset that is worthy of compensation and hold sacred our promise of client confidentiality.)

As an experienced duo, we’ve built and managed multiple businesses, weathering the ups and downs of this field together. We’ve seen firsthand how the landscape of therapy has shifted—both before the pandemic and in the wake of its challenges—and we understand what it takes to adapt and thrive. Through it all, we’ve developed a passion for supporting other providers. Whether it’s helping you grow your practice, navigate setbacks, or find your unique path to success, we’re here to share what we’ve learned.
